Project Funding

The total cost of the Keene Public Library renovation project is estimated to be $8.9 million.

We are seeking three income sources to support the construction.

The first is a commitment from the City through a taxpayer-supported bond.

The second – the focus of the campaign– will be donations from individuals, foundations and businesses.

The third will be federal tax credits and grants that could reduce the amount needed from the City and from donors.

Our goal is to raise $5 million from individuals and businesses. Donors can pledge over several years. The gifts are fully tax-deductible and can be made by cash or check, credit card, or gifts of securities.

Naming opportunities may be available for gifts over a determined level.

Once the project funding is secure, construction would be scheduled to begin in 2017. And in 2018, we can look forward to the opening of the new, larger, and ever-more-vibrant Keene Public Library.
